The delivery of critical infrastructure is a key priority for Team Central Coast, as a fundamental element to sustain our ongoing population growth and support our region’s long-term economic development.

Team Central Coast champions a coordinated, place-based approach to support the delivery of essential and enabling infrastructure, in partnership with all levels of government and industry.

Team Central Coast Leader, Lawrie McKinna, says the Central Coast has suffered due to poor and uncoordinated planning that has resulted in significant infrastructure gaps.

“Developing and maintaining essential infrastructure is absolutely vital to support a strong and sustainable future for our community,” says Mr McKinna.
“In recent years, poor and uncoordinated Council planning and slow approval processes have resulted in significant gaps in critical infrastructure on the Coast."
“The absence of strong Council leadership and minimal collaboration between government and industry has also stunted infrastructure growth."
“A coordinated and collaborative approach to delivering critical infrastructure such as transport corridors, tourist attractions and community assets is crucial for the development, advancement, and innovation of the Central Coast.”

Team Central Coast is also committed to developing a strong commercial investment climate on the Central Coast to encourage industry investment and relocation to the region.

“As well as working together with all levels of government and industry to enable the advancement of major infrastructure projects, Team Central Coast is dedicated to making the Coast an attractive destination for a wide range of business and industry investment,” adds Mr McKinna.
“We will do this by supporting advanced manufacturing networks to expand and innovate within their specific sub-sectors including food products, high-tech software and hardware, fabricated metal products and other specialised manufacturing industries."

“We will work to establish the Central Coast as a circular economy by prioritising the reduction of waste products and driving sustainable development, which will simultaneously benefit our local economy and our community.”
